The Manager of Operation reports to the Director of Bombardier Experimental organization responsible for Ground Testing and Flight Test Aircraft outfitting mandates. The Manager will provide leadership and management to the Method, Logistics, Instrumentation, Shop and Quality disciplines and manage the Experimental facilities for the Experimental organization.

What are your contributions to the team?

 

  • Responsible for the achievement of the Bombardier Experimental operation mandate and deliverables.
  • Oversee the planning, build, and quality control of the final line joining and assembly activities of a new technology demonstrator flying prototype.
  • Manage Experimental facilities infrastructure and services for safe and efficient operation for Bombardier Experimental mandates.
  • Lead and manage your organization by ensuring their development, growth and engagement.
  • Lead Health and Safety risk management efforts, ensuring the ultimate safety of all Experimental operation activities.
  • Collaborate with union representatives to manage the unionized workforce, adhering to collective work agreements.
  • Drive and continue the deployment of operational excellence system.
  • Drive the development and implementation of new enterprise tools and processes for your team.
  • Develop and conduct activities in accordance with company policies, priorities, and budget constraints. 
  • Manage and allocate budgets for the experimental operation disciplines and facilities.

How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:

 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a minimum of twenty (20) years of applicable experience in aerospace disciplines of experimental engineering, final line operation, aerospace manufacturing and quality control. 
  • You have management and leadership experience, including executing performance appraisals, unionized employee workforce management and career development.
  • You have proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
  • You demonstrated history of recruiting, retaining, and promoting world class talent; develops staff members to optimize their potential and their performance.
  • You are comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment.
  • You are Self-confident with exceptional influencing, oral presentation, and leadership skills.
  • You are eligible for registration in the Canadian Controlled Goods Directive (CGD) Program.
  • You are fully bilingual (French and English).
